Rochester Deaf Rotary exists to promote the life, welfare and education of deaf and hard-of-hearing people of all ages through direct service, as well as to advance deaf awareness within our community, and around the world as opportunities arise.
Rochester Deaf Rotary is honored with Membership Growth Award
RDR was recently recognized by Rotary District 7120 for winning the district’s highest award for membership growth. At present, RDR has a total of 24 members for the year ending June 30, 2011.
PDG Mark Wyse, who is the district’s Immediate Liaison, presented the plaque to RDR President John T. Reid at the CSA Dinner on June 7, 2011, and offered words of congratulations for making this achievement. This award was announced at the annual District 7120 Conference held at Gettysburg, PA on May 1, 2011.
Our District 7120 District Governor, Jeff Krans, was unable to attend our CSA event, but in his message in the CSA program booklet he wrote how pleased he was with our award. He pointed out the wonderful work RDR had done in supporting Turkey with its hearing aid project, and how it exemplifies this year’s Rotary Theme “Building Communities and Bridging Continents!”
